DIY Ribbon Tee

Most of my wardrobe consists of tees in various colors because they are easy.  I can layer them, throw a sweater over them and toss them in the wash when my kiddos have slimmed me once again.

One of my favorite tees has a stain that I have tried various ways to get rid of and to no avail, that pesky stain is still haunting me and causing me grief.  So why not do a little DIY with some ribbon?

Materials needed:
tee shirt
ribbon
scissors
thread
pins
tape measure
sewing machine

I decided to sew two layers of ribbon to make sure the stain was covered but also to give it a little flare. I placed the ribbon on the tee where I wanted to start and pinned it in place and then pinned the first layer of ribbon around the v-neck to the other side stopping parallel to my starting place.  I then took it over to my sewing machine and sewed the first layer on.  Back to pinning the second layer on and then sewing that row on.

Now try that sassy little tee on and strut your stuff :)

New summer hat

I was out shopping with two of my favorite boys and had a gift certificate that I decided to spend on me, not house stuff. This sassy hat was something that won my heart over. I have a great summer hat, but this is a little smaller and will work for those summer days when my big beach hat is just a bit much.
I was able to wear it to the park Monday afternoon as the weather forecast was correct and it was a beautiful weekend and Monday too.  The boys were thrilled to skip their normal schedule and play in the sunshine.  Momma was thankful for the natural Vitamin D.

Day 268

Next weekend another consignment sale is coming up, so I thought I would go through the stash of clothing, shoes, bags and baby items that will not be needed anymore. The drop off day is next Thursday, but I want to get a head start on the tagging and getting the clothes ready, so here is the beginning of the pile.

Day 152

Today was the beginning of the twice yearly Kids Sale. The sale is a consignment sale of all things children. I am consigning a few items the boys have outgrown or never used. As part of a consignor, I get to pre-shop the sale and this is my haul. I picked up a new diaper bag, some clothes for the boys and a pair of designer jeans for me. I'm more excited to see how the Skip Hop bag works as one of my friends gives it rave reviews.

Day 134

Forecast for Sammamish, WA for Thursday, May 14: 57 degrees and rain. Four year old who dresses himself: shorts and a short sleeved shirt.
When it was time to go to preschool, he slid on his rain boots and rain coat and was all ready to go. I just honestly had to laugh. It is way easier to let him dress himself than stand over him trying to get him to wear pants.
