Day 299

I have currently completed 20 blocks for my buggy barn quilt. This is a crappy picture so I'm not sure if it's mainly the lighting or my iPhone or both, so sorry the colors look really washed out. Tonight was our quilting group so I took them to show off as some of the other gals have their buggy barns completed and here is the young mom of the group still plugging along. I just love the bright colors and have 10 more to go.

Day 201

I have completed the first ten blocks of my buggy barn quilt and I think this quilt is going to end up being so stinking cute and it's mine, all mine.

Day 200

As I was cleaning up from piecing my buggy barn stack, I noticed my fabric confetti and thought it was a fun reminder of all the work I have put in putting together the first 10 blocks.

Day 180

Happy Birthday MOM!!
The beginning of my buggy barn quilt. I spent most of the meeting time tonight working my 30 fat quarters into three stacks of ten. Once I was finally done fussing and liked how my stacks went together, I cut out the pattern and then started sorting again. Once the pattern is cut out, you take the top layer of the petals off and put them on the bottom of the stack. Then you take off the top two layers of the middle to expose your third fabric. The other gals really liked how mine was turning out and I'm excited to start sewing it all back together.

I know you are all wondering how in the world I got it home. Saran Wrapped the fabric on the cutting mat and it's currently sitting on my work table ready to be unwrapped and sewn together. The sewing will have to wait until tomorrow night once the boys are asleep. This project is one where little fingers could really mess it up.

Day 177

The quilting group I am a member of is starting a new quilt project from the company Buggy Barn. The quilt I am doing is called Spring Fever and is a flower pattern. The fabric on the far left is my starting off fabric which is from the Belle collection from Amy Butler. I went over to my mother-in-laws house today to pick up my collection of fat quarters as she has been assisting me in collecting 30 fat quarters for this quilt. All the fabric needs to be washed and ironed and ready to go for Monday nights quilt meeting. I'm really excited about this project because I'm doing a quilt for me and it's girly too.

Day 146

I have started another quilt project for my BFF's little girl, Caleigh. The fabric and block design have been chosen for over a year and I am now getting motivated to begin the quilt. The colors are all based off the blue print second from the top. The colors are fun and remind me of sherbet.

Day 142

I am starting a new quilt next month with the quilting group from church. We will be learning a new method of cutting out a pattern and assembly of the quilt. My starting off pattern is the bottom fabric and the top three are fat quarters I purchased to add to my need of 30 fat quarters. Yes, I need 30 different fabrics and praise the Lord for my mother-in-law and her stash. I'm really excited to start this new project.
