After a wonderful evening out at Purple Cafe last night with the hubby for date night, today was family day. On the agenda is a birthday party for a friend of ours little girl who turned 4. She's little buddies with my 4 year old and I must confess that I hadn't bought the gift yet. Oops, so off we go to breakfast, shopping and a birthday party.
First stop was my favorite doughnut stop, Top Pot!!!! Nothing like a latte and a chocolate bar to get you going for the morning. If you ever make it to Seattle, you MUST stop by one of their many Seattle area locations and try out a doughnut for yourself.
After picking up the appropriate Rapunzel/Tangled doll for the birthday girl, we were off to the party. As we were walking out of the mall, I took this picture with my iPhone. It might not be super warm, but any clear blue sky day in February is a good day.

Snow Day 2012
It snowed....and snowed....and I think we have at least three inches at our house and it's still coming down. My boys, all four of them, are excited because it's a snow day. No school and a modified work at home day. I made monkey bread the night before and baked it this morning and of course, no day is ever started without my beloved Nespresso.
We will eventually get all bundled up to see how much snow there is and if we can go sledding down the hill. Happy Wednesday!

Day 243
I thought I would start off the week by making my boys pancakes. We ran out of our normal pancake mix and have yet to make it to Costco to replenish, but I have a new cookbook that has a recipe for pancakes. It's your basic recipe of flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, eggs, milk and butter. I added baking spice to add a little more flavor and the pancakes turned out okay. I don't care for the baking spice, but the boys ate them up. You can tell I had a little helper who was hungry and ready for mom to start cooking and not be taking silly pictures.
