Day 363

The most exciting part of my day was the trip to the library to drop off books and pick up a couple of books I had on hold. I took a class back in September and have been waiting patiently for the book by Scott David Plumlee. The other book I found online and it's all about metal, which is a passion of mine in the jewelry world. Of course, getting these books only makes me want to go shopping for supplies so I can do some of the projects.

Oh, and I'm almost there. :)

Day 351

Going to the library takes on a whole new meaning for a few weeks as my little city is getting a bigger library and it's moving time for them. I went into the old library to pick up books I had reserved and was disappointed that one of the books I have been waiting on and was an inter library loan was not there, only the resin book, which I'm excited to be getting anyways. I look forward to looking into another medium for jewelry and possibly dappling in it a bit too.

Day 347

This evening our family spent some time with our bible study fellowship group celebrating the Christmas season. The kids were all in the basement with the baby-sitter while the adults were able to chat with one another without being too interrupted by the little ones.
We also had a book exchange with both the children and the adults. The kids, with lots of help from the parents, chose numbers and then went in order to pick out a book. My boys are very excited about the new books they received and spent some extra time tonight reading them before bed.

Day 346

I just love how my little guy's interest in reading has just blossomed as of recent. It so sweet to see him crawled up on dad's lap reading a book together before bed.

Day 239

I am taking a metal jewelry class on Saturday and am in need of some additional tools. Lucky for me, I have a friend who is in the jewelry business and lent me his Rio Grande catalog to look through. Granted, this catalog is from a few years ago, but it has been so nice to peruse through it and make up a wish list.

Day 230

It's really interesting that I ended up getting both of these books at the same time from the library as they both have topics over our food industry. I haven't gotten very far into either one, but there seems to be a correlation between the food industry and our children developing allergies at a more rampant pace than previous generations. I honestly wouldn't have gotten The Unhealthy Truth if it hadn't been for Aaron and his allergies to food. I am learning that some of my choices of various brands have been a positive move for my family.

Day 195

About a week and a half ago, I received an email from the parent company of the beading and knitting emails I receive informing me of what they call a "hurt sale". They have too many books and supposedly some were not perfect, so they off load them for a discount. I purchased two beading books that I have been pining for and one knitting book all for less than $25. The receipt stated it would be 3-5 weeks before I received my order, so I was totally stoked when they showed up on my door step this evening.

Day 48

I love the King County library system. It is so easy to get online, request a book and have it delivered to your local library branch. One of the books I have been patiently waiting for is Multiple Bles8ings by Jon & Kate Gosselin and Beth Carson. I am a fan of the show Jon & Kate Plus 8 and wanted to read this book since it is about their lives before the show, mainly when she was pregnant with the sextuplets and life shortly after.

Even if you aren't a fan of the show, this book is more about the great awesome God we serve. It is the Gosselin's testimony of how God has brought them through the struggles and joy of marriage and family. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down, so most of my day today was coffee and reading this book. Oh, you will also need Kleenex, too.

Day 47

This morning after breakfast, I was finishing up my coffee and reading a couple of chapters of my book, so I wasn't paying that much attention to what the boys were doing. I headed down the hall to the restroom and discovered the array of books flowing down the hall. No surprise there, but then I noticed the little creative nook. Andy had taken his pillow and quilt and made himself a little reading spot. I was wishing I was little again, so I could go cuddle up and read in that special little spot.

Day 33

I took this picture of Aaron just chilling on the pillow, reading a book while his brother kept jumping over him. Andy was playing super hero and uses his apron as a cape. It was fun to see how this picture turned out as I took it on my iPhone.

Day 5

There is only one thing for which I will happily pay my property tax; the King County Library System. I love our library system. Almost any book you wish to read, you may request to have delivered to your local library. Book fines are nominal as yes, I do have fines every once in a while for a late book. The boys enjoy picking out books to read and it just also happens to be a free indoor activity in which to spend some time during the rain. So today is a photo of a few of the books we came home with to read.
