Neon Sunshine Necklace

I have been playing around with different materials in my jewelry making for awhile now and I have to say, it's been a lot of fun mixing paper and vinyl with my metals.  This necklace is white vinyl flowers from the Beadin Path and the paper flowers were from a jar of scrapbooking flowers I picked up at Michael's for a completely different craft project last summer.

The chain is silver plated and 21 inches long. Since neon is still trending, you might find a few additions in my shop soon.

More pics can be found in my Etsy store.

It Had Been a Week & It Was Only Monday

My very sweet husband brought home a bunch of tulips and take out last night for dinner.  I have spent the last week scrubbing, cleaning, vacuuming, combing out bugs of too many kinds.  Our house got hit by lice and the norovirus at. the. same. time. (shutter....)

I also missed out on a girl's night last Friday because I was so exhausted from the week that dinner and a glass of wine with my girlfriends couldn't entice me out of the house.  It probably didn't help that my husband had been in Chicago for part of the week and managed to snag the last seat on the early flight home.  Since I was missing out, one of my dear, best girlfriends texted my husband to stop by her house to pick up a little gift for me.

Yup, bestie for life for sure.

Day 281

God is so amazing! Remember those daisies my mom bought me, well, the pretty orange ones that I thought AJ killed have grown back. I wonder if I will see any more flowers before the frost sets in.

Day 242

One of my Gerber daisies has decided to bloom another flower for me to enjoy before it comes to its demise again. The yellow daisy seems to have gone from a nice yellow to more of a cream color but that could be because I don't get much sun in the back. I'm also thinking maybe I should move my flower pots to a place where little hands can't get them.

Day 228

My mom bought me a couple of planted Gerber daisy plants and I had put them outside on my table to get some sun and rain. I also have this little flower picker who just happen to be in the background of the picture. The orange daisies have already been demolished, so we shall see how long it takes the last yellow one to be picked.

Day 225

Today has not been a pleasant day for me, so I thought I would post something nicer. I'm not sure if I'm sick or it's pregnancy related, but I'm pretty much down for the count. Here's hoping tomorrow is so much.
I took this picture when we were on Orcas Island back in May. There was a lilac bush starting to bloom and I had taken a few pictures of it.

Day 140

After spending most of my day enjoying running errands without my boys, I headed over to grandma's house to join the rest of the clan and head to the farmer's market. Well, the little stinkers left without me, so I had more free time on my hands. I grabbed my camera and started shooting pictures of grandma's flowers that are starting to bloom. This has been my favorite one at my in-laws house ever since I moved to the area. I just love the orange, coral blend of colors.

Day 132

We have some ground cover in front of our basement window that has survived the clearing of the bush at our house. I noticed that some of the flowers were blooming, so I went outside today to photograph the splashes of purple mixed in with the green.

Day 90

Today was the preschool field trip to the Bellevue Botanical Gardens. I took several pictures of Andy on the treasure hunt, but this one was one of my fun pictures for me, as I enjoy taking photos of God's creation. Not much is in bloom yet as it is only early spring, but the contrast of green is just lovely.
